Does land loss affect you?

Not too much. At one time, I used to commercial fish, but ever since then, it hasn’t really bothered me. With the levee, it’s both a good thing and not a good thing. Because now we don’t flood, but the people above us flood. We lost a lot of land since I was a commercial fisherman. Before, we had bayous. Now it’s nothing but lakes. In a couple more years, it’s gonna be right at the back door.

What are you doing about land loss?

Put your heads out there. Place rocks to stop the land from eroding. Maybe it’ll help a little bit. Right now, there’s nothing to stop the erosion out there.
