What is your understanding of artificial intelligence?
I don’t feel as strongly about it as a lot of people do. It’s definitely helpful for simple stuff. But I do get that it’s kind of scary because obviously, it’s always growing and taking over art or taking over writing can be scary. Right now, I don’t think it’s scary. It doesn’t write very well.
What ethical concerns do you think arise from the use of AI?
I think it’s fair to say you shouldn’t use it to write your paper because, you know there’s not really any point. You have to learn and you’re the one writing it. So, it’s like you’re only hurting yourself. I understand why universities, you know, consider it academic dishonesty or cheating. But, in terms of an office job, I don’t really see an ethical concern if it’s something so small like a report.
How do you think AI will impact your field of study?
Right now, I don’t really see AI impacting in a big way to the point where it would be limiting jobs because I don’t think it’s creative. Right now, I don’t know how that could grow but I’m skeptical of it being able to produce like a novel or something that people would connect with in such a way.
