Well, I’ve lost some land in my front yard just to general erosion. I’m building a bulkhead right now to prevent any more. When it comes to the marsh, a lot of fishing spots are gone. It’s just sad to see it all disappearing.
The reason we have it, some minor reasons and major reasons. A minor reason was all the canals that were cut sped it up. So they got to do the diversions, something about filling in the canal some kind of way, dredging or filling in the marsh. Quit worrying about climate change. The sea level rising is not doing us anything. That’s a misnomer. Three millimeters in 10 years? I don’t even know how they measure that. Another one of our problems is subsidence. Because it’s a delta, it’s sinking or settling. So a lot of land, because it’s not being replenished by the Mississippi river, it’s sinking. Some people want to make it complicated, but it’s not
