Coastal land loss does affect me in multiple ways. Not only because I grew up with a family that trawls, hunts fish and crab, but it also affects our land. So we have a canal that we own and go fishing on sometimes. We also have a house boat. So the coastal erosion affects those things by destroying where we go fish and where we trawl sometimes. And we also have some plants down here like pumpkins and collard greens, and that would affect our hard work by washing some of that away as well as washing away the house boat that was built.
I think people should be focusing on bettering their local land of Louisiana as well as caring for the wildlife, whether that’s the fish or the turtles or the alligators, anything like that. I feel like you shouldn’t be damaging it, you should help it. You should invest in land and make sure everything is protected.
